Backpacking in East London, SA
Location
Yesterday evening we arrived at the Buccaneers Lodge and Backpackers resort, just outside of East London, in Chintsa West. Established back in 1983, these guys are considered one of the early pioneers in the South African backpacking industry. After a little confusion over the sleeping arrangements we check in and enjoy an evening meal of South African braai with potatoes and vegetables. A few Castles later and we retire for the evening.

PEPY: Volunteer Tourism in Cambodia

PEPY, "Protect the Earth, Protect Yourself" is a non-governmental organization registered in both the US and Cambodia. PEPY's mission is to aid rural communities in improving their own standards of living, with a focus on increased access to quality education. I’ve been wanting to write this post for a while now because it’s been one of those questions that I’m asked every time I tell the story. Why do you want to ride 9000km with a cycle? The usual answer is – it’s not about cycling its about the story… but today on my training ride to the Vaal Dam I realized that it is about the bike as well.
