Licking Berlin

Berlin is a huge, vibrant city. It has more than enough distractions for every kind of tourist, and really does seem to have something to do at any time of night.
But the best thing about Berlin is that its history is pressed so firmly into your face that you could lick it. And, with Germany's famous purity laws in effect, you won't pick up any nasties in the process*

For example, I decided to meander between Kreuzberg and Warschauer Strasse, and I stumbled across some beautiful gardens following the course of the old Luisenstädtischer Canal. While this doesn't immediately scream "History!" at you, it turns out that this canal was 1st started in 1852, but the project was abandoned then restarted several times due to the upheaval that Europe was experiencing (2 World Wars, being just part of this). At some point the canal was filled in and provided the foundation for part of the length of the Berlin wall.

Hello and welcome to the tour diary for the London, and country side tour! On this site - you'll be able to check out photos and read a brief diary of this Explorica trip. Me and the Garrardkyschool team will sneak around the great city, learning, discovering and wondering all around London and why not some respnsible shopping as well! Bye the way...ready steady...Welcome to London! Our travelers arrived on time, only because some traffic jam it took ages to snick through the city to our hotel before to head into town for a walking tour of bustling Covent Garden over Waterloo Bridge before arriving at a restaurant close to the Strand for a traditional dinner of fish and chips. It was soon time to go back into our hotel but not before to have a nice view of San Paul Cathedral and a stunning sunset from the millennium bridge…cradling gently before a good night for sweet dreams!

Eco Home @ Geffrye Museum - Tuesday 13 October 2009 - Sunday 7 February 2010

This exhibition hopes to address, without preaching, widespread and increasing concerns about ecology and the state of the planet and how this links to our homes and the way we use, decorate and inhabit them. It will examine current ideas around ‘eco-living’ in an informative and timely way. The climate change agenda is having an impact on almost every area of life and the home is no exception.
