Africa's first football World Cup will generate one of the biggest environmental impacts of any sporting event in history*. For that reason South Africa’s Ministerial “Green Goal” 2010 programme would see organisers adhering to sustainable principles and to promote environmental responsibility in organising and hosting the tournament.
