Farm Festival 2010

Location

Gilcombe farm Bruton
United Kingdom
Event date:
30 July, 2010 (All day) - 31 July, 2010 (All day)

2 Days of music on a farm in Somerset

After fabulous reviews in the press last year, 'Best Value Festival',(The Guardian) making Times and Telegraph top 100, (2009,2010) we are back for our fifth year - growing strong.

Farm Festival is an independent music festival, totally non-corporate (and will always be so), run by a crack team of downright amateurs.

Farm Festival showcases new, rising and established bands and musicians. We put on an eclectic range - quality and talent are the only selectors. Our other aims are to provide a safe friendly atmosphere to enjoy music in the fabulous Somerset countryside and to raise money for the charities 'Practical Action', 'Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance' and local good causes.

I have dreamt Cuba for years and finally I managed to go there!

It was like be carried 50 years ago....see things and a way of life I just heard about from my granmother's tales. A big shock considering our way of life but simpler and more genuine.

Rome - Explorica

Day1 - Ciao there! After a long trip we are, finally, in town, the town "Caput Mundi" one!!!! The sun is shining the flight on time. What can we ask more? After a quick check in at the hotel we heading directly in the heart of the city. oh yes it's for real we are in Piazza di Spagna, a perfect auditorium for "people-watching" and for lunch. A "pizza al taglio" (slice of pizza) is a must here to get some energy for a nice sightseeing walk. Fontana di trevi is waiting for 23 coins to ensure the next visit in Rome but becareful, some of us where here already and after throwing the third coin it's possible to get married here so for now once is enough! The day is going to be a long one so even a good strong "espresso" with cream on top is a must to keep us on track to see the Phanteon, Piazza Navona, Piazza Venezia and all around.

Madagascar, treasure island

This is a story of a trip that started as a tourist and ended up in being an andventure in one of the most adventurous forests in the world. Quoting a superfamous 3D movie, I believe it's true: Pandora is here and I decided to volunteer to stop tree cutting and wildlife hunting. But first of all I decided to stop and listen to the people who live close to forest.

Now it's a story I discover every day. Not just a trip in a place, but a tour into the power of interconnection, both culturally and environmentally.

Let's start with the birth of a project...
