Approximately 1.5 hours from Santiago, you will head to Viña del Mar, a beach resort known as Chile’s garden city. Your first stop will be at the Curacaví Valley, where you will have the chance to taste some of the area’s traditional pastries and beverages. (Full-day tour, approximately 9 hours)
Once in Viña del Mar, you will visit the Fonck Museum, which houses the best collection of artifacts from Easter Island. Don’t miss having your photo taken with the original Moai statue in its gardens! You will go on to the city’s Botanical Gardens for a walk that will show you some of the country’s typical vegetation.
After lunch, you will go on to Valparaíso, Chile’s main port city, famous for its many hills that look like a huge natural amphitheater. Ride up in a funicular dating from 1893 to the 21 de Mayo promenade, where you will have fantastic views.
You will then head to the Gervasoni promenade, with its traditional British architecture and Saint Paul’s Anglican Church, and enjoy coffee or tea looking out to the Pacific Ocean.
The Sotomayor Square will be your next stop. Walk around and see this historical quarter which was declared a World Heritage Site in 2003. You will have plenty to talk about during the return to your hotel in Santiago.
