The philosophy of SOOMAA.COM is ecotourism, which means to us promoting local economic development, supporting preservation of cultural and natural heritage and educating travelers and public.

1. We stand for identity of Soomaa: 

1.1. When developing and designing tours and services we pay attention to the local specific values, the way of life and culture in villages of Soomaa, the harmony of human and natural community;

1.2. We try to avoid the use outward phenomena as much as possible.

2. We stand for the local economy: 

2.1. Owner and leader of SOOMAA.COM / Karuskose Ltd. Aivar Ruukel is a resident of Soomaa;

2.2. We use services and products of local residents and companies in offering tours and travel services;

2.3. We prefer local farm products and foodstuff produced in Estonia in catering;

2.4. We use local guides as much as possible.

3. We follow the limits of carrying capacity: 

3.1. In sizening the group and in operations we take into account ecological sensibility of the area; all tours, projects and activities are registred with the administration of National Park

3.2. We pay attention to cultural and social sensibility of the communities, avoid visiting areas where it is not accepted by locals

4. We stand for environmental protection:

4.1. We avoid the unnecessary use of packages;

4.2. We avoid the use of disposable commodities;

4.3. We do run a system of sorting and recycling waste;

4.4. We consider the environmental friendliness when selecting subcontractors.

5. We provide responsible information

5.1. We inform visitors about local conditions and rules before a journey to Soomaa, through web-site, via e-mail:

5.2. Our guides and instructors give information to clients on the spot during their journey;

5.3. After visiting Soomaa we ask customer for feedback via e-mail.
