Our vessel has been carefully selected to ensure both comfort and the quality that you would expect. Every details is hand-crafted in Turkey. Tha Mariagiovanna is a modern gulet of traditional design and materials and can host groups from 2 to 12 people, with options for master, double or twin cabins.
The Maria Giovanna gulet is one of the best constructed and equipped yachts of its kind. Handmade in Turkey from pine from the Taurus Mountains and mahogany, she follows a design developed for these waters in Byzantine times.
Life aboard a traditional Turkish gulet
On most itineraries gulets cruise for an average of three hours a day, generally by motor to keep to schedule, under glorious sail when weather and time permits. There are plenty of opportunities for swimming, snorkeling, and kayaking as your gulet journeys along the Italian coast.
Service is a prime consideration and we boast experienced captains and excellent cooks to make your adventure simply unforgettable. Mealtime panoramas range from secluded coves to picturesque old fishing villages. All food is prepared in the gulet’s galley by the onboard cook, who conjures up a variety of fresh local delicacies.
We have a wide range of charter cruise itineraries in Italy and along the Mediterranean coast, from the Amalfi Coast to the Aeolian Islands. Some of the place we usually visit:
Charter along the Amalfi Coast
A stretch of coast wedged between the blue of the sky and sea, a string of spectacular little towns and ancient fishing villages welded like limpets to the rocks. This is the unforgettable Amalfi Coast.
The Amalfi Coast is located on the relatively steep southern shore of the Sorrentine Peninsula, leaving little room for rural and agricultural territories.
Behind each and every bend in the road which snakes its way along the Amalfi Coast, a splendid view of the small towns, secluded bays, and deep gorges, for which this part of Italy is famous, awaits. Winding its way through a dramatically beautiful landscape of lush and striking rock formations, this narrow coastal road leads to towns of worldwide fame such as Positano, Amalfi, and Ravello, but also to lesser known, yet just as magical, places like Praiano, Atrani and Furore.
For those looking to be impressed by the coast landscapes, it’s not difficult. The natural and rural spectacle of the peninsula is what has been drawing sailor there for years. This area is one of the best for destination in Italy, especially if you go for food, go rural, and go to be inspired!
Cruises on Capri
The islands of Capri, Ischia and Procida. Visit the Isle of Capri, south of Naples, three nautical miles from the tip of the Sorrento peninsula. You can visit Anacapri and Capri (the two municipalities of the island) and in particolar Marina Grande and Marina Piccola. The Funicular railway leads up to Capri and its world famous Piazzetta. We recommend a visit to the Baroque church dedicated to St Stephen, the church of Our Lady of Succour and the ruins of Villa Jovis, Tiberius’ Palace. The view from Tragara over the Faraglioni rocks and Marina Piccola is not to be missed. There is a chair-lift for an exciting ride up to Monte Solaro which can also be reached, for those who enjoy walking, via an enchanting mule-track.
The Aegadi islands
Favignana, Levanzo and Marittimo as well as the rocks Maraone and Formica.
History of the gulet
The word ‘gulet’ (Turkish gulet - aka gulette or gullet) probably derives from the French goulette, or schooner. These two-masted wooden vessels, usually made from local pine, were long used for transport and fishing along the southern coasts of Turkey. Typically designed with a sharp bow, broad beam and rounded aft, these days they are designed and fitted with comfort and not trade in mind.
We provide tours start from the following harbors: Marina di Stabia, Milazzo, Positano
