Three blokes on motorbikes will cross Australia in virtually a straight line.
In May 2012, three everyday Aussie’s will undertake a challenge of a lifetime. They will attempt to cross the harshest terrain in Australia, and possibly the most unforgiving environment in the world, unassisted. Facing incredible challenges and unknown dangers, these three adventurers leave fear behind to live out a two wheel dream to cross Australia in virtually a straight line. They are attempting a world first. Over 98% of the terrain is dirt, sand, rock and mud and over 1,500 massive sand hills in the Simpson Desert must be conquered... this will be an incredible adventure of true Australian spirit and unrivaled determination. Leroy, Geordie and Jon will do battle with the unpredictable weather, whilst enjoying some of the most spectacular landscapes in the world and meeting unique locals and indigenous communities on their journey. Australian celebrities and fellow bikes enthusiasts, will join the team on trip stop points to encourage and cheer them on their way. Join the boys on their epic adventure...
A very minimalistic approach has been approved by all team members to tackle this adventure with no backup support, motorcycles which run very efficiently on environmentally friendly fuels and camp stoves that have been made out of recycled soft-drink cans.......... These are just a couple of the minimalistic processes we have implemented to offset carbon emissions and footprint. Our involvement with the Aboriginal communities as we travel our country will be at the forefront of our adventure, community awareness, responsibility and respect will be proven within each cultural area. We aim to provide a realistic portrayal of our country and preserve it for younger generations to enjoy just the way we are about to.
