Andaman Discoveries is based in Kuraburi, a relatively undeveloped area just north of the resorts of Phuket and Khao Lak. The cultural diversity and natural beauty of the region make it a fascinating place to explore. Pristine jungle, untouched beaches and coral reefs provide habitat for rare wildlife. Muslim, Buddhist and Moken villages live side by side in harmony. These friendly people invite you to experience their traditional way of life and explore the diverse ecosystems of the area, from reef to rainforest. Andaman Discoveries has been working in partnership with communities to provide responsible tours, study and service trips, and volunteering opportunities since 2005. Our programs benefit both the guest and the host - providing genuine benefit to local people and fascinating insights into a unique way of life. Andaman Discoveries facilitates: - Cultural tours with village homestays - Regional tours to jungle tree-houses - Tailor-made Study and Service Tours for schools - Volunteering with local schools - Tours designed for everybody Andaman Discoveries began as a relief NGO in the aftermath of the 2004 tsunami. Over time, the organization transitioned into livelihood rehabilitation, and trained villagers in English, leadership, and computer skills. Andaman Discoveries’ ongoing projects reach over 3,000 people and include forest restoration, scholarships, handicrafts, and a community development network.
